When the creative juices aren’t flowing

By  Ted Prodromou

For years, I was able to write an article or email every day.

The creative juices were flowing like Niagara Falls.

Lately, my mind has been blank when it comes to creating content.

Most of the time I can snap out of my writer’s block.

Not this time.

It reminds me of an image I saw on social media.

My mind is like my internet browser.

19 tabs are open.

3 of them are frozen and I have no idea where the music is coming from.

I usually have 40-50 tabs open LOL.

For some reason, I stopped doing my morning routine.

Meditate.

Write in my journal.

Read for 30 minutes.

Exercise for at least an hour.

I have kept up my Peloton routine which started in January 2020.

Over 1800 rides and over 2500 workouts.

The rest of my routine faded away.

This morning I grabbed what I thought was a new journal from my bookshelf.

To my surprise, there were a few pages of random thoughts from 2021.

The random thoughts were about a new program I was creating about deep dive market research and defining your ideal client.

I never launched the program.

The rest of the scribbles were about how I wanted to spend the next 20 years.

I can thank Tommy Schaff for expanding my thinking.

When he asked me how I wanted to spend the next 20 years, I told him there’s a good chance I’ll be dead in 20 years because I’m 66.

He said I still need to have a plan or I would just wither away.

I have five pages of journal entries about how I want to spend the next 20 years and they haven’t changed since I wrote them in 2021.

A lot of the entries are related to what I’m passionate about.

My passions have evolved over the years but my core passions remain.

A few months ago Lorna Scott introduced me to The Passion Test.

I was amazed how accurate the test was.

It validated what I’m truly passionate about and how they will play into my 20-year plan.

On Tuesday, January 21st at 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern, Lorna will be sharing The Passion Test with us.
